About Us

Galloping Abbey Productions is an independent theatre company based in New York City with roots in Philadelphia and York, PA. The company is the brainchild of artistic director Bryan R. Caine and remains under his dictatorial thumb. For more on the full time company staff, click here.
Late on a cold and rainy night in an old and creepy house in the less than model city of York, Pennsylvania, there sat a disgruntled college theatre major pondering his and all existence. You see, this aspiring theatre artist had a few projects in mind that nobody he knew was willing to support. The smoke from this existential meltdown cleared and, on Wednesday 14 November 2007 at 1:30am, Galloping Abbey Productions was born.
The symbol above is a makeshift idea of what an actual company logo will look like once a graphic artist is hired to make one. The yin-yang, though a highly overused object, combined with the classic theatre motifs of comedy and tragedy represent an idea of balance and compromise required of all company members for the successful creation and execution of a piece for performance.
Running an independent company means having just enough money to produce and market each performance. For now the budget is small; that money comes from arts supportive donors who share the vision of the company and ticket sales. To support Galloping Abbey in its continued efforts, click here
