And it is so!!! ANIMAL TALES has been selected to perform as part of Manhattan Repertory Theatre's SUMMERFEST 2010. Original cast members Jamie Caponera and Bryan R. Caine will reprise their roles, Caine will direct, and Scott McCalmont (the actor formerly known as Alan Scott) is in talks to reprise as well.

Animal Tales, Galloping Abbey's one and only venture, has, according to Samuel French, been published! And whilst no one has seen a hard copy of it yet, presumably this means that all the lovely people invloved now have their name printed in the front of the script in the 'first performed by' section. So congrats to all involved for this small achievement and to Don for his newest published work. As far as we know there have been no other productions of the play.
BUT THAT COULD ALL CHANGE!!!!! Galloping Abbey dictator Bryan R. Caine has submitted Animal Tales to be performed along side a series of other works at Manhattan Rep Theatre's Summerfest. That's right...Manhattan...as in New York City. The decision in still pending, we will know on 9 May.

HOLY CRAPSHOOT BATMAN!!!! Galloping Abbey nears it's second birthday and we've not produced in over a year. That's what happens when even large companies are running out of money.
But have no fear, company members continue to succeed: most are still students at York College, Alan Scott has graduated and is working as an actor in Charlotte NC, and Allyson lived in Prague for a part of the year and is now back in York.
Founder/Artistic Director Bryan R. Caine is working professionally in Philadelphia with mild success working as an actor for Historic Philadelphia Inc., performing druing Fringe 2009, doing readings at Plays & Players. He will be directing two short plays for Primary Stages at the Shubin Theatre on 24 & 25 November.
We hope to be producing for Fringe 2010

First time I've touched the site since we opened. Second weekend in Philly, Harrisburg, and York went great. Here's a great review from U Wish U Nu Philly and a pretty good one form Curtain Up.
Plans now being pondered for Summer 2009.
1 September 2008
So we opened this past weekend in Philly. It was hecktic, it was beautiful, and everything went great. One thing: the Pennnypack Park show is located at 8600 Verree Ave (not 3600), in Verree Lot #2. There was a bit of confusion over this.
Also, a reviewer from Curtain Up came to the Saturday matinee in the park and had this to say. Overall it was not a bad review. We thank Curtain up for considering us worthy enough to review, we certainly think we are.

Tonight’s guest was Kathleen Carignan, Executive Director of the Philadelphia Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (PVLA). From Bryan R. Caine, Artistic Director: Project Update & AUDITIONS!!
Those of you who follow the site or have to listen to me on a daily basis know that GAP’s plans for this summer have been a bit inconsistent. I have news, they may remain so. But, for now there is one concrete plan: we will be performing at the Philadelphia Fringe Festival. As of today I have chosen a new piece for that project. We will be performing a world premier collection of short plays and monologues by Don Nigro called ANIMAL TALES. This wonderful collection fell into my lap yesterday and I was instantly drawn to it. It has a Fringe perfect combination of minimalism, strange concepts, social commentary, chipmunk gods, and beautiful blue ass.
